The Philippine Pre-Medical Association of Hawaiʻi (PPMAH) hosted an event on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at the John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM). Pre-Medical students, JABSOM medical students, and Philippine Medical Association of Hawaiʻi (PMAH) Foundation physicians attended, allowing individuals to network with aspiring physicians and doctors from different medical specialties. The workshop covered various topics that will give pre-med students an in-depth understanding of what it takes to become a doctor and what is needed when applying to medical school. Topics included the Road to Medicine, How to Study for the MCAT, Applying to JABSOM, and more. This year, we hosted a separate, tailored workshop session for high school and undergraduate students in their earlier years of study to inform them about the physician role and how they may prepare for a medical career.
