Meet the Team
Aloha everyone!
We are the Philippine Pre-Medical Association of Hawaiʻi—a community of pre-meds, medical students, and physicians all working together to provide mentorship, opportunities, and support for students at every stage of their journey to medicine. And just to be clear—we welcome everyone, not only Filipinos

Aloha everyone! My name is Estefany Mae S. Bayudan. I was born in the Philippines but was raised on the island of Oʻahu and grew up in the city of Waipahu just before I turned 2 years old. I am a junior at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa pursuing a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biology. Driven by a deep interest in surgical care, I plan to build a career in medicine as a future general surgeon. I’ve been a member of PPMAH for 2 years and although this is my very first time holding an officer position for PPMAH, I’ve held officer positions in other student organizations in the past! PPMAH has been a cornerstone of my growth—both personally and professionally. It’s given me invaluable opportunities to learn, connect, and find a sense of purpose on my path toward medicine. I’m truly grateful for the impact it’s had on my journey so far. Thus, as your current Vice President, one of my top priorities would be to strengthen the support system within our Pre-Med community alongside the rest of the officers. The path to medicine is demanding, and it’s common to face moments of burnout or self-doubt. Hence, I’m committed to fostering a space where we uplift one another, share our experiences openly, stay motivated as a team, and be a source of honest support and guidance. By building a strong, connected community, we can ensure that no one has to navigate this journey alone. I am honored to work alongside all of you as we grow and succeed together!

I was born in New York and raised in Hawai‘i, where I developed a deep appreciation for community and connection. Growing up, I witnessed my mom’s long recovery from a kidney transplant, which first sparked my love for medicine and healing. Supporting her through years of health challenges gave me a firsthand understanding of the importance of compassionate care and inspired me to pursue a path where I could do the same for others.
I graduated from Kaleo High School and recently earned my Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. Along the way, I’ve volunteered with various organizations, gained experience as a medical assistant, and co-directed PMAH Outreach. Each of these experiences has further shaped my commitment to becoming a physician and serving others through medicine.
Outside of academics, I love spending time at the beach, exploring new foods, and playing Dungeons & Dragons with friends. I’m excited to continue my journey in medicine and to grow alongside this community of future healthcare professionals.
