Applications for the 2027-2028 ‘Imi Ho‘ōla post-baccalaureate program are now open! Upon successful program completion, students matriculate into the JABSOM MD Program as First-Year Medical Students. Problem-Based Learning (PBL) Demonstration
“The John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM) utilizes innovative learning methods including standardized patients, "manikin" simulations, and a tutorial-based, student-centered system called Problem-Based Learning (PBL). An orientation to the JABSOM curriculum will be held which includes an explanation of PBL and the opportunity to take part in a PBL exercise.”

Shadowing Opportunity with Seafarers Medical Clinic

We are thrilled to announce that the 2024 PMAH Pre-Med Workshop registration is now OPEN! Sign-ups will remain open until Sunday, September 22, 2024, 11:59 pm HST or until all open slots are filled! We encourage you to sign up ASAP if you want to attend the workshop, as spots are limited.
This event will be on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at the John A. Burns School of Medicine. Pre-med students, JABSOM medical students, and PMAH Foundation physicians will attend, making this the perfect opportunity to network with other healthcare professionals and aspiring physicians. The workshop will cover various topics that will give pre-med students an in-depth understanding of what it takes to pursue a career in medicine and what is needed when applying to medical school. These topics include the Road to Medicine, How to Study for the MCAT, Applying to JABSOM, and more you won't want to miss!
